The Skate Skool Launch Party

Posted on: No Comments

Being huddled close to my iMac over winter sure has built up an appetite for some good weather, and what better way to celebrate that than to go and photograph the official Cheapskates Skate Skool Launch party at The Palms car park last Saturday. The sun was on, the BBQ was on, and the skating was on. I’ve been involved heavily with the branding of Cheapskates Skate Skool over the past… well, nearly a year now! So I’ll have some updating to do soon on my blog with finer details of that (once I clean up a few other pressing projects!).

You can however scroll through these photos for a little taster, then head on over to skateskool.co.nz and check out the Launch entry on their website to see some more photos and the official best trick comp results.

Be back soon…

St Albans After The Quake

Here’s a couple of shots I’ve been eyeing up in my local area since the recent earthquake. Just had to time it so I didn’t look like a looter. Both shots 30 second exposures with a touch of HDR.

Coptic Orthodox Church, Edgeware Road.

Edgeware/Barbadoes Street Shops, hopefully Inkgrave Tattoo (third in from the right) pull through this OK, they’re some talented artists.

Inline Skating Over Quake Gaps

Got out for a shoot this evening with client and good friend Scotty Buckner from Skate Skool. As many of you are aware, Christchurch got rocked by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake over the weekend, leaving some nicely crafted gaps and kickers around the riverside suburbs. What better thing to do than to hit them up and have a shoot. At short notice Scotty was keen as, and shooting eight wheels instead of four was a fresh change.

Might go back for more this week if the rain holds off. In the meantime—enjoy these two shots!
