My timing for getting back into the groove of taking live photos for bands in Christchurch lately couldn’t have been better; with the opportunity to shoot our local pop/punk heroes Flying Solo. They’ve been around for five years now and have finally got around to releasing their debut album—“Don’t Be That Guy”. Over this last weekend Flying Solo filled the house two nights in a row entertaining both the drinkers, and the soon to be drinkers (I’m sure).
I hadn’t heard Flying Solo play since about four years ago, and it was pretty amazing to see the development of these guys, their sound was sharp, their vocals were on, and they put on a very crowd interactive show. They have hooks like you’ve never heard—‘Nothing to Lose’ was in my head for at least 24 hours afterwards. In support over the two nights was a nice variety of local acts from HC bombers ‘Out Cold’ through to the sweet acoustic ‘I Am The Light’ (scroll down to see support act photos as well).
Here’s a selection of images from both nights — Enjoy!
